Camping
Enjoy some peaceful time out in a lovely garden setting with park, inlet or river views. Rates range from $20 per person for a non-powered site to $25 per person for a powered site. (Very large campervans may carry an extra charge.)
Excellent camping facilities catering for both self-contained and non-self-contained campervans and tents. Well-equipped central kitchen, hot showers, toilets and free internet. We welcome all of our guests to enjoy the River View Deck with full marquee, gazeebo and barbeque facilities.
We have mature and extensive gardens which allow for a peaceful, romantic and Park-like setting on the edge of a tranquil river. We are right next to Northland's famous heritage sites - Hongi Pa site and the historic Stone Store river basin. There are 15 powered sites and 16 unpowered sites. There are a limited number of Prime Sites with water views and General Sites with garden views.
The facilities block is well equipped with unmetred showers, toilets, laundry and kitchen, complete with electric hotplates, full oven, microwave, chiller, freezer, pans, crockery and cutlery.
There is a patio with free gas barbeque, gazebo and large, shaded entertainment deck with cafe style seating and spectacular views of the river, inlet and the Hongi Hika Heritage Pa site, opposite.
Sometimes we have kayaks for hire for experienced kayakers. Enquire with office whether this is possible.
We have our own jetty and several swimming holes. Boat charters can be scheduled by arrangement.
